Introducing the Keep Pinellas Beautiful Blog!

Welcome to our new blog! We are so excited to begin this new way to connect with our volunteers and Pinellas County community members. This platform is another resource for you to gather information. Here you’ll learn more about KPB, plus topics like beautification, waste streams, microplastics, and DIY projects you can do at home to create a more sustainable lifestyle.

What to Expect

Our plan is to begin by covering our four focal areas: litter prevention, waste reduction, conservation, and beautification/community greening. You’ll get an in-depth look at why we focus on these areas, including some of the science driving activities like beach cleanups and invasive vegetation removals. Look out for tips, tricks, and ways to get involve throughout these posts. This is behind-the-scenes KPB, where you get to discover why we do what we do, and why we love it.

Where We’re Going

We plan to branch out into a variety of topics, including (but not limited to) exploring our new microplastics program, DIY activities you can do at home, and discussions of local ecosystems (complete with pictures, of course!) Shout-outs to volunteer groups and information on upcoming events will also appear, as will wrap-up posts letting you know everything you achieved during seasonal events like the Great American Cleanup and the International Coastal Cleanup. While we write and create, we may go in unexpected directions as inspiration takes us to new places.
